Presidents’ To-Do List March 2014

  • Get signed up for convention – here is the link.  The beauty of it is, headed back to Bellevue.  April 25-27 (just 15 days left to get the early bird price) https://www.regonline.com/builder/site/?eventid=1478566
  • Each Council is asked to put together a gift basket.  Issaquah usually does $25 gift cards.  Please bring a $25 gift card from your PTA to the Awards reception. The cards can be to anywhere used in Wa.  If you don’t have it at the reception, then you can drop it in the mail to: 1615 E Beaver Lake Dr SE, Sammamish WA 98075
  • Membership Challenge – ‘Going out with a Big Bang’ for every unit who has 14 members join between now and June 1st.  You will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Staples gift card for your Local Unit.
  • April 17th GM meeting will go until 12:30 with Common Core presentation & light lunch from 11 to 12:30.  Please encourage your board to attend this presentation. The more knowledgeable we are about CC, the better we serve our membership community.   Lunch will be provided free, please rsvp by April 14th to Deb Smith pauldebsmith@earthlink.net   with how many people will be attending from your LU, so we have enough food.  Mtg is at the ISD Admin Bldg.

  • Remember your Golden Acorn and Outstanding Educator nominations were due to Dawn last week.  If you have not sent them to her, please get them to her asap to have your recipients listed in the program. Dawn’s email address is: pta-Dawn@comcast.net.
  • Mark your calendars for March 25th for the Acorn Reception.  At 7pm at the Swedish Hospital in the Issaquah Highlands. Remember to invite your guest(s) of honor, principal, possibly the person(s) who nominated the winners, as well as any other Board members, or guests who’d like to celebrate the volunteers.
  • Please let us know when your Nomination Committee has completed it’s work.  If help is needed please let us know.  Make sure your Standing Rules are in line with your slate of new officers.

  • Reminder that in order to stay a Unit in good standing, you have to have monthly attendance at Council and all elected board members trained.  If you need help making this happen, please ask for help.
