Washington State Programs and Awards

Showcase the Work of Your Volunteers – Apply for WSPTA Group Awards
Deadline is March 1 (postmarked)

You know how hard your volunteers work in all areas of PTA. You can bring attention to this work at the WSPTA Convention by applying for WSPTA Group Awards. The application forms specify which examples of work are needed for each particular award. Don’t worry, you don’t need to provide examples of everything on the application form. Points are earned for each item provided.

Communication:   There are awards for “Website”, “Newsletters & E-blasts”, and “Communication Strategy”. This last award acknowledges that a good communication strategy is carried out using several methods simultaneously (bulletin boards, reader boards, e-blasts, thank you notes, etc.)

Best Practices: “Standards of Excellence”, “Honor Unit or Council”, and “Outstanding PTA of The Year” are all awards that will showcase how your PTA is following prudent business practices, ensuring training of your officers, and showing that your work is child-focused. These are all the things you are doing already. Why not have all that hard work recognized?

One Special Project, Event, or Service: Did your PTA provide an outstanding event or service? Tell us about it using the “PTAs Taking a Significant Action” award application form.

PTAs Helping One Another: If your PTA (or council) received or gave assistance to another PTA (or council), please let us know! Use the “Mentor-a-PTA” application form. (For PTA-to-PTA, or Council-to-Council assistance only.)
