PTSA Unit Elections

Every PTSA forms their own Nomination Committee in January and conducts elections in early spring.  Contact your PTSA if you are interested in more information about Board elections.  CLICK HERE for the list of Issaquah School District PTA and PTSA Council VP’s. If you click on ‘ABOUT US’, then Local PTSA, then the grade level category (Elementary, Middle, High), you will get a listing of each unit.

Council Elections

Every year during the March PTSA Council General Membership the Issaquah PTSA Council elects officers for the following positions: President, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President High Schools, Vice President Middle Schools,Vice President Elementary South, Vice President Elementary Central, Vice President of Elementary North and Reflections for a term of one year. 

To be eligible for election to any of the above positions, candidates shall have been a PTA member for at least 30 days prior to being elected. A member of a local unit in the Issaquah PTSA Council area and have served on a board of directors of a local unit for 1 year.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee of this organization shall consist of the following elected officers: President, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President High Schools, Vice President Middle Schools,Vice President Elementary South, Vice President Elementary Central, Vice President of Elementary North and Reflections.  All elected offices may be held jointly by two people. Each co-position holder shall be entitled to voice and vote at all board of director’s and general membership meetings No person shall serve in the same office for more than two (2) consecutive terms. An officer having served eight (8) or more months shall be considered to have served a full term.

Election and Nominating Committee Information

The WSPTA Uniform Bylaws require that the Nominating Committee is elected at a general membership meeting at least thirty (30) days preceding the election of officers. This committee should never be appointed by the president nor be selected by asking for volunteers. No member should serve on this committee unless elected as specified in the WSPTA Uniform Bylaws. The president and principal are not eligible to be elected to, or serve on the Nominating Committee and may have no part in their deliberations.
