Art Update – October

  • PTSA Reflections theme for next year is “Diversity means…… Please promote in any upcoming PTA communications.
    District turn in date Nov, 16th 2011.
  • District Reflections Gallery Walk Jan.10th 2012
  • The PTSA Council has approved the purchase of display grids to be used for the district Reflections award ceremony from this year’s reserve. We have moved to make them district property. They will be purchased shortly. Thank you.
  • Training for Art Docents and Teachers will be held monthly on the third Monday/Tuesday of the month throughout the year at the new artEast  facility www.artEast.org (Search Art Docent) schedule will be posted.

  • A huge THANK YOU to ISF for granting a “Big Idea Grant” to support K-5 Art Lessons have been loaded onto Issaquah Connect and will go live next week with binders going to building Principals.
  • Call for Student Art to be exhibited at the Issaquah University House. The Theme is “Harold and the Purple Crayon.”  High school artists may submit their interpretation of this timeless classic.

  • The PTSA Council has approved the purchase of display grids to be used for the district Reflections award ceremony from this year’s reserve. Thank you.
  • A brief meeting to plan/update for this years Art Docent program will be held Thursday Sept 15th @ 10 am location TBD. Please forward any NEW Art Docent Chairs to art@issaquahptsa.org

  • Thank you for helping ISD “go green” by recycling last years crayons, pencils & markers in our Elementary Schools. Bins will again be located in each schools workroom with Art Docents helping with this program.  Bins will be picked up and collected at the end of the school year, Thanks
