GOT SCIENCE? YES, WE DO!!

On May 2, we kicked off the Elementary Science Initiative, an unprecedented community partnership—with the Issaquah Schools Foundation, PTSA, and Chambers of Commerce—to fund new science curriculum for all elementary classrooms.

On June 14, we MADE OUR GOAL!
Thank you to all of the generous donors and PTA/PTSAs!!

Welcome

The Mission of the Issaquah PTSA Council:

The primary mission of the Issaquah PTSA Council is to support our member units, with particular focus on helping them adopt best practices and develop leadership. We do this through training, sharing resources, and actively facilitating communications within PTA and between PTA and the Issaquah School District. In addition, the Council advocates for students at the local and state levels – in coordination with our local units – with the mission of improving the delivery of public education to the children in the ISD. The Council will work in partnership with the Issaquah School District and the Issaquah Schools Foundation in support of this mission.

The 2010-2011 Goals of the Issaquah PTSA Council:

  1. Continue to push for the implementation of meaningful education reform and accountability at all levels including educating our local units, taking stands on key legislative issues and facilitating participation in advocacy programs.
  2. Actively support and reinforce advocacy efforts at all levels.
  3. Make Issaquah PTA Council accessible to everyone by growing our leadership potential and creating opportunities for broader participation from local units with ongoing support.
  4. Develop and implement an annual Customer Satisfaction Survey for parents and students.
  5. Create a Community Outreach position on the PTA Council Board both to represent Issaquah PTAs at the regional level and to identify best practices and help our local units put them into place for reaching out to ethnically, socio-economically, and gender diverse populations in our communities.
  6. Help all local units be prepared to qualify and apply for the Washington State PTA’s Standards of Excellence Award.
  7. Support local units in their membership drive efforts so that we may achieve 95% membership district wide.
