2014-2015 Washington State PTA Reflections Finalists

Issaquah District Award Winners

  • There were over 1,000 entries received at state.
  • 89 of those entries have received State Awards.
  • Issaquah has received 10 of these State Awards! WOO HOO! Even more than last year!
  • 27 entries will move onto National.
  • Issaquah has 3 entries moving onto National (listed as 1st place below):
1st Place – called “Outstanding Interpretation” – advances to National Reflections for judging at the National Level.
2nd Place – is titled “Award of Excellence” – 2nd place in the entire state!
3rd Place – is titled “Award of Merit” – 3rd place in the entire state!

VISUAL ARTS

  • 1st Place  Issaquah High School PTSA – Julie Kwon – “The World Would be a Better Place if We Pursued Our Dreams”
  • 2nd Place Maywood Middle School PTSA – Emma Ream – “Forest Fires”
  • 3rd Place Grand Ridge PTSA – Joseph J. So – “Blue Water” (Intermediate grades 3-5)
  • 2nd Place Grand Ridge PTSA – Emily No – “If You Can Paint the World” (Primary grade K-2)
  • 3rd Place Grand Ridge PTSA – Sunidhi Tumuluru – “Penguins in the Rainforest” (Primary grade K-2)
DANCE
  • 2nd Place Maywood Middle School PTSA – Kendall Lorraine Boston – “Shoulder to Shoulder”
FILM PRODUCTION
  • 1st Place Liberty High School PTSA – Anna Wolstad, ‘The Flower Project”
  • 2nd Place Skyline High School PTSA – Alex Elevathingal, “Missing the Moment”
LITERATURE
  • 2nd Place Maywood Middle School PTSA – Haley Archer – “An Empty Table”
MUSIC COMPOSITION
  • 1st Place Briarwood Elementary PTA – Jarom Gardner – “The Brothers March”
  • 2nd Place Briarwood Elementary PTA – Rachel Lovina Gardner – “The Celebration”

All 89 WSPTA finalists will be on display at the Washington State PTA Convention at the Bellevue Hyatt April 17-19th
